Structural behaviour and design of end-restrained square tubed-reinforced-concrete columns exposed to fire

Tubed-reinforced-concrete columns are gaining increasing usage in engineering practices, whereas research on their fire behaviour is still limited and mainly concentrated unrestrained columns. Since end-restrained might behave differently as compared to the columns, of square tubed-reinforced-concrete with end restraints was investigated via numerical modelling this study. The axial rotational were modelled using linear springs then validated against test results. effects failure mode, force buckling length at resistance, evolution deformations, internal bending moment during heating, systematically analysed through parametric studies. axially-restrained mostly undergo contraction only fire; typical mode uncontrolled overall deformation, except for those relatively high restraints.
